The ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ School District is welcoming feedback and comments until February 10, 2026, about the proposed three-year calendar for the school years 2026-27 through 2028-29. The calendar sets out winter and spring breaks, as well as school closure days, including District-wide professional days.
School Calendar Summary 2026-2029
The following is of note:
- The proposed three-year calendar is aligned with most Metro Vancouver school districts.
- Since 2014, the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ School District has been operating with five school closure days. The instructional time lost, due to the closure days, is added to the remaining days in session.
- In the 2026-27 and 2028-29 school years, Good Friday – a statutory holiday – occurs during the typical period of time for spring break. As such, one of the school closure days has been allocated to the Friday before winter break.
- Schools will each choose two Professional Development Days over the course of the school year for a total of six, including District-wide days. These are published in the spring before the following year’s calendar.
- Each year, all ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Schools meet the required hours of instruction.
